PLANETTROUT: Fly Fishing, Fly Tying and LIFE
My sympathy. I know the hurt. My prayers are with you.
Bruce
Angelo was part of the cement of the family…he was Nadia’s dog but all of us shared him…he was one of those special pets that brought JOY to everyone…the little guy had cancer that had metastasized, all of us were there with him today…
Tim
I did the same thing…collected a bunch of photos of Buddy doing all the things he loved. Ones that made me laugh and ones that made me cry….very healing…thanks for sharing what a special little guy Angelo was!
Laureen,
I think that WE, in particular, feel the loss of those loved by us and those who loved us…

Several years ago our dog had to be euthanized due to metastatic cancer;
he was the same age as Angelo. Though we all accompanied him to the vet, only our daughter had the guts to stay with him and hold him until,as
she said, ‘the light went out of his eyes.’ Coincidentially, the day your post
appeared, our daily paper ( the Washington Post ), featured an article
detailing the enormous impact that pets make in the lives of returning vets-emotionally and physically……..listening,never judging and always giving
unconditional love.
Elaine,
Angelo was SPECIAL to all of us in the family…he was a part of our journey, individually and together…

So sorry to hear of the passing of Angelo and I would like to express my sympathy to you and all the family. I think pets have special souls and are on loan to us for a certain time. They bring us so much love and happiness and are always there for us, just like family members. Angelo will be enjoying his life now in his “happy hunting ground” and will have left you all with wonderful memories of his life with you and all the good times you had together as a family.
Thank you Trish…
We believe this:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Thanks for posting this Tim – an uplifting belief which brings tears on reading but leaves happiness in our hearts.

Tim,
I check out your site every now and then. Sorry to hear about Angelo. I know how hard it is when a beloved dog passes.
Right now Lin’s cat is having problems and it will be a bad time around here.
Your fly patterns are all interesting.
GT
Gary,
Thanks for your comment. My best to you and Lin…
