This is a US Company that manufactures Fly Rods in longer lengths at reasonable PRICES. I picked up this information at Fly Anglers Online…I prefer longer rods for nymphing and have been using them since 1985 when the Scott Rod Co. made up a 10′, 5WT “G” Series rod for me on custom order…I wish [...]

FLYJUNKIESFLYFISHING- the DARK MAGGIE... October 18, 2009Well It's Now Fall, and for a great many of us, Our Thoughts turn to pursuing Steelhead. Steelhead can be caught most every month in some River out West, but here in California, Fall and Winter are the prime times for Steelhead making their epic journeys up Rivers from the Ocean. I haven't targeted Steelhead in a number of years and This Year the u […]noreply@blogger.com (Dean Endress)

SWITTERSB BLOG- Fly Tying & The Thread Head (Skip Morris Tips) December 2, 2009Regardless of whether you complete the thread head with a whip finisher or by the hand whip finish, it is important for aesthetics, balance and strength to pay attention to this last part of the fly’s preparation. Flies come apart at this critical point due to faulty thread wraps or weakly secured materials along the [...]SwittersB

URBAN FLYFISHER- Christmas Books November 24, 2009I thought I would make a few posts about Christmas books – in these deep dark winter (and lets not talk about the rain) nights thoughts turn from fishing (unless you are a bit crazy) to a spot of fly tying or even thoughts on tactics for the next season. DW Fly Tying- CDC Dun - fast water December 1, 2009A variant of the CDC Dun, this pattern does away with the microfibbet tails and introduces hackle fibres instead. This is a big 'searching' pattern. At times, a larger, high riding pattern can persuade a fish to take and the extra CDC it carries allows it to cope well in faster riffles of water.Hook: Partridge SUD #10Thread: 14/0 SheerTails: Rooster […]dave.wiltshire1@googlemail.com (Dave Wiltshire)

Whiskey Creek- I’m a Mac, and I’m a Fly Fisherman November 30, 2009After much influence, I’ve recently made the switch from a PC to a Mac, specifically a Macbook Pro.
