Here are the recipes, separate photographs and further information on the attractor patterns I posted on my previous post…I use attractor patterns as lead flies in multiple fly rigs and often use them solo to work places where big Trout might be lurking and in the mood for the “get out of my space” syndrome…

RED/ ORANGE PT (BUFFALO JUMP)

HOOK: Daiichi 1560, TMC 3761 , TMC 100 SP BL,  #12-#18

THREAD: Uni 8/0 Brown, to secure tail, rib and abdomen

TAIL: Lemon Wooduck

RIB: Wapsi, Copper/Brown wire SM

ABDOMEN: Red Pheasant Tail fibers...then

THREAD: Wapsi 6/0 Fl. Orange

THORAX: Orange Ice Dub 50%., Nat. Squirrel Belly 50%

WING CASE/ LEGS: Rusty Brown Krystal Flash

BEAD: Silver Tungsten, sized to hook

I am particularly influenced by color of the water and stream bottom color when choosing an attractor pattern…given the name of this guy, one might suspect where it would be employed…

YELLOW/OLIVE PT (178)

HOOK: Daiichi 1560, TMC 3761 # 14-#18

THREAD: Gordon Griffith 14/0 Sheer, Ginger

TAIL: Yellow Pheasant tail Fibers, 3-6

RIB: Wapsi, Green Metallic Wire, SM

ABDOMEN: Yellow Pheasant tail fibers…then

THREAD: Wapsi 6/0, FL. Pink or Red

WING CASE/LEGS: Black Krystal Flash

THORAX: Peacock Ice Dub 50%, Olive squirrel 50%

BEAD: Black Brass ( stuffed with lead or lead sub.) or Black Tungsten

Pictured below is a location that might find me using this pattern…especially in high water in the early Summer…

TUNGSTEN PARROT NYMPH

HOOK: Dai Riki 135 # 16, Daiichi 1120 #14-#18, Mustad CO 68 #14-#18

THREAD: Wapsi Orange Fl., 6/0

BEAD: 7/64 Gold Tung for #16 ( or 1 size, oversize for # 14 and # 18)

RIB: SM Gold or Copper Wire

ABDOMEN: Natural Pheasant Fibers

OVERBODY: SM Mylar tinsel

THORAX: SLF Spiky Squirrel Dub …I used a combination of Mink and Sable for air bubble retention…

HEAD: Fl. Thread in front of bead

This fly imitates a Caddis and was developed for the Missouri River in Montana. It imitates the bug in it’s transition stage. It is meant to be fished dead drift and deep with a little Frog’s Fanny brushed on the thorax. This pattern comes out of the BIG R FLY SHOP, in Great Falls, MT. Poke around there…interesting other patterns to be discovered…

CHARTRUSE PARROT TUNG NYMPH

HOOK: Mustad CO 68 #14-#18, Daiichii 1120, #14-#18

THREAD: Wapsi Fl. Chartreuse 6/0

BEAD: Black Tung one size larger than normally called for

RIB: Sm Black Wapsi wire

OVERBODY: SM Mylar Tinsel

THORAX: Peacock Ice Dub 50%, SLF Prism Peacock 50%

HEAD: FL. Thread, Wapsi, Chartruse 6/0

THREAD: UNI 8/0 Olive

TAIL: Olive Pheasant tail fibers, 3-6

ABDOMEN: Olive Pheasant tail Fibers

RIB: Wapsi Pink wire, SM...then

THREAD: Wapsi Fl Pink, 6/0

WING CASE/LEGS: Pearl Krystal Flash

THORAX: UV Pink, Ice Dub

BEAD: Gold Tung, sized to hook

THREAD: Wapsi, Chartreuse 70 Denier

THORAX: Olive squirrel dubbing 50%, Ice Dub Olive Brown 25%, SLF Olive 25%

LEGS: Olive Partridge, V notched

BEAD: Silver Tungsten sized to hook

Tis pattern WORKS anywhere up or down 395…and some other places… in and on the edges of YNP…

HOOK: Mustad c49s, Tmc 2487, Daiichi 1130 #16-#20

THREAD: Gordon Griffith 14/0 Sheer, Black

TAIL: Pheasant tail fibers

ABDOMEN: Black Holo Flash, or SR, Holographic Mylar Motion 1/64″ (coat thread base with cement before wrapping – I use Hard As Hull)

THORAX: Wapsi Raibow Sow Scud Dub

WING CASE: Pearl Mylar Tinsel

Forget RAINBOW Warriors…from the same creator, Lance Egan…tie some of these with Red and Green Holo Flash abdomens too…

Another Lance Egan pattern which works…REAL GOOD…

BBDF (Blue, Bleu Dun, Frenchie)

HOOK: TMC 2487, Daiichi 1130, Mustad c49s, #14-#20

BEAD: Silver Tungsten, sized to hook

THREAD: Uni 8/0 Grey, Gordon Griffith 14/0 Sheer, Grey

TAIL: Olive Pheasant tail fibers, 3-6

RIB: Lagartun , Blue, Fine or small

THORAX/COLLAR: UV Ice Dub Dun

WING CASE: Optional....SM or MED Pearl Mylar Tinsel
