WINGCASE/LEGS: Fluoro Fiber, Brown or Black, 16 strands or less depending on hook size * Coat Mylar Motion with UV Resin

This is a composite of John Barr’s BWO Emerger and Carl Pennington’s Biot Emerger ,using a Black Holographic wing case. Why Black ??? Because BWO’s are most active when their wing cases darken, just prior to hatching…This pattern is meant to be fished from the bottom of the water column to just under the surface. Grease thy leader or hang it off a larger dry pattern…I prefer the wing case be pronounced as a trigger…

Just a simple little BWO parachute for darker BWO hatches. I find that the BWO’s on the East Walker River tend to have a deeper Olive color than those, lower down, on the Owens River, below Pleasant Valley Reservoir. The Fl. Orange post is for me and the Dun post for Big MOO and Ally…they have better eyes…I am a big fan of this hook because of it’s color and wide gape…

So Michael is supposed to be traveling out here to CA for time on some Eastern Sierra waters…here are a few things I am whipping up before he gets here. Our trip to the Eastern Sierras is HERE. Due to water conditions, our best fishing came on the high elevation lakes…a lot of these patterns will see use, in October when Ally and I got up up Bishop to fish some lakes and the Lower Owens river from there…
