With our visit, this past weekend, to this legendary Hollywood eatery, four generations of my family have broken bread here:
Musso & Frank Grill, 6667 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA…
This is how it looked in the early 20’s …
When my Dad (Jess Barker) came from New York to Los Angeles, this was the first place he ever ordered dinner…at this counter…
That would have been around this time…and about same time he started bringing my Mom here when they were dating…
This is the booth they liked to sit in, in the main room…where Greg and I had our first meal here in 1948…
This is the other side of Musso’s, from the entrance. off Hollywood Blvd.
Lil MOO (Miles) and Mom (Nadia)…in the booth for his first visit…
The Bar, where the best Martini in Los Angeles is made…
Ally ( with one of those Martinis) salutes her sister, on her birthday…
Dad (Greg) and Miles wait for the food…
New York Steak, Creamed Spinach, Onion Rings and Sauce Bearnaise…the usual with my companion…
Miles (where he isn’t supposed to be) getting ready to sing “Happy Birthday” to Mom…
Miles likes this place and that is good…because we are coming back next week – to celebrate Michael’s graduation and move to NYC with Aimee…

That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing with us. You must be so proud of your mom. She was a beautiful woman.
Bruce,
Yes she was and she knew a good restaurant…most of the really great ones in LA like Perino’s, Tail O the Cock, Scandia, Edna Earl’s Fog Cutter, The Brown Derby and Chasen’s are long gone now…

In all the years I lived in LA, I never had the opportunity to go there. Maybe next time I’m down that way.
Mark
Many thanks for your latest family pictures Tim – young Miles is growing so fast and such a little cutie. It means a lot to me to be able to see your Mom’s family and I am sure she is looking down with pride at you all. Her memory lives on in all our hearts – a very Special Lady.
