This was the first time I had returned to St. George, UT since my Mom worked with John Wayne in “The Conquerer”. My twin Brother and I lived there for three months during the location shoots. I participated in a documentary about that film in 2023. It was making the Film Festival Tour in the Fall of 2023. I saw it a with Nadia and Ally in Newport Beach, CA – participating in a panel discussion with others about my experience there and the direct effect it had on my family…

I was going through some photographs that Ally and I collected when we made the trek to the storage unit … I don’t think that anyone has ever seen these. Some are very interesting and bring back a lot of memories. For those of you who survived the 60’s and 70’s, “I’m Your Captain”, is germane…

My Mother when she was about nineteen. This was from a photo shoot for a certain very popular peppermint candy  …around 1937, when she was doing modeling jobs in NYC…

Again, about the same time, 1937, posing with skis in Central Park, NYC…I see a lot of her in both my daughters…

On the back lot at 20th. Century Fox…being dragged around by Mom and Dad …”ENOUGH with the publicity photos…!!!”….

XMAS and visiting the fat guy in the red suit, on the roof with real reindeer, at the Tail O’ the Cock Restaurant on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, CA…I’m interested in the fat guy, my brother wants his bell…

The Tail O’ the Cock…torn down for a mall…

My Mother’s birthday on the set (location), St. George, Utah 1955…the big guy in the middle is kinda’ obvious…

My Mother’s “shrimper”, the O’Susanah, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL…I became quite intimate with every piece of wood on that boat..I spent 3 weeks scraping, sanding and re -varnishing all of it before I went in the service, in 1967…

The Captain…with her day’s catch…West End, Grand Bahama Island, 1967…

PT, floating on a raft near The Captain’s Hatteras Sportfisherman, West End, Grand Bahama Island, 1971…just after I got out of the Army…
