I have put together some Caddis – emergers, cripples and dries – in the following series. They imitate genus Hydropsyche , which is prevalent throughout North America…In the Eastern Sierras, they are present from May through the beginning of October. Good populations are found in the East Walker River, Upper and Lower Owens River, Hot Creek and in a number of freestone creeks along the Eastern Slope…In most of those locations, they tend to be sizes #16 – #18…and Olive, Olive/Green, Brown, Yellow/Tan or Tan – in color…The other empty spaces will be filled in the next post…and YES, they will also be more Caddis…
Gettin’ there is half the fun…

I have had a ton of Web Wing, in several colors, sitting around for awhile. This represents the diving Female Caddis on it’s way down or up from the stream bottom. Stalcup’s (he first used this material) Medallion Sheeting is a good alternative . I particularly like the sparkle and sheen of Web Wing…

John Barr’s design for flat water…it may be tied in various other color combinations and has an excellent profile when viewed from a Trout’s perspective…
